Time for a new website?

Is your business website helping or hindering your business?

If you’re like most business, you rely heavily on your website. It may be your primary marketing vehicle and if it is not, it should be. Unless you are really paying attention you website is probably outdated and you don’t even know it.

Even worse, your website might be completely disconnected from the brand you’ve been building. Take a look, as most owners and managers rarely re-visit their website on a regular basis.

Here are 8 key reasons why you should consider redesigning your website.

  • You aren’t getting the results you want or you can’t track them
  • Your website is designed for you, not for your customers
  • You want to incorporate a new modern design
  • You want a site that is easy for somebody in-house to edit and update
  • You updated your brand or marketing strategy but not your site
  • Your site isn’t responsive or mobile-friendly
  • You want more effective content
  • You don’t want to be held hostage by your developer for propriety code

At Imagica, we primarily build modern responsive websites for small to medium business on a WordPress platform starting at about $1,600 including server setup, overall strategy, search engine optimization, social media integration, recommended necessary plugins and configuration. For websites requiring a more robust merchant component with e-Commerce back end we recommend a build a WooCommerce extension that plays nicely with WordPress. Of the dozen or so major e-commerce platforms in the world, WooCommerce holds a 32% market share and the gap is widening, well over Magento’s 19% and OpenCart at 11%. The dominance of WooCommerce is probably due to the overall growth of WordPress.

If you want to avoid some of the set-up issues with WooCommerce consider Shopify, perhaps with their payment and POS tools as well. It’s a one stop shop and you basically build your site around your e-commerce component.

WordPress was once thought to be just for bloggers, but truth is that even enterprises like Sony, Bloomberg, Disney and MTV use this platform as well.

An important note, however, is that for a website to be truly effective it must have quality content that is posted with purpose. Gone are the days of developing a website and simply “letting it soak” with little or no attention. Yikes.

You don’t know what you don’t know. Give us a call to see what a new website can do both for you and your customers. Imagica can help you with not only development but also map an overall strategy designed specifically for your type of business and that’s where the real magic lays as virtually anybody can simply design a basic website. But do they know how to drive your product or business. For more on our experience click here.
